Did you watch the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards last night? Wow, again the fabulous ladies of TV and Cinema did not disappoint. One of our faves Emily Blunt looked aglow, per usual, thanks in part to her incredibly talented makeup artist Jenn Streicher and Prtty Peaushun Medium. Lisa Eldridge loves us too!
The amazingly talented and lovely Lisa Eldridge is a loyal fan of Prtty Peaushun. If you've never checked out her blog, you MUST. She gives great tutorials and lists every product she uses on her high profile shoots. In her latest post she writes about creating a natural and fresh look for Vogue Turkey. Thanks for the love Lisa!!

Gallery Update - Thursday - 29/11/12 - 4:58pm

I love this shoot I did for Vogue Turkey with Joan Smalls, she really is one of the most beautiful women I've had the good fortune to work with. We shot a cover and fashion story along with these black and white shots (to accompany an interview she has in the issue), and a subscribers cover all in the space of a couple of hours... a testament to what a great model Joan is ...she really knows how to work it!!
I kept the make-up natural and fresh with glowy skin and used Prtty Peaushun (pronounced Pretty Potion) Skin Tight Lotion in Dark on Joans body skin to give a radiant sheen. I'm slightly obsesssed with this stuff, its so effective at subtly reflecting light to even out skin tone, give a gorgeous glimmer and firm up the silhouette ... its stuffed full of skin tightening ingredients. Available in plain and four shades to suit all skin tones, I really couldnt be without it in my kit for shoots and red carpet, its magic!
The comapny is based in Los angeles but they ship internationally from their website: www.prttypeaushun.com
I get mine in the UK from gurumakeupemporium.com and I find their service very good .

Another Glowing Review: Erin Ashley
Positive reviews are always great to read particularly when it's coming from a professional makeup artist. In a world filled with beauty products we are ever grateful to those pros who tried us out and then wrote about it!! Erin Ashley is spreading the love, read her review below.
Prtty Peaushun Review
Prtty Peaushun Review
No, I didn’t type that wrong…that is how it is spelled
and it is pronounced “Pretty Potion”! This is the stuff you have been
missing for a night out to give your skin that allover glow. The
product information on the website:
“Created by celebrity makeup artist
Bethany Karlyn. Subtle, light reflecting particles in a natural
emollient base gives the skin a gorgeous, flattering glow. Radiance
conceals minor imperfections and enhances definition to create a sexy,
slimmer silhouette. Infused with an innovative blend of plant extracts
to lift, firm, tighten and diminish the appearance of cellulite, stretch
marks and varicose veins, as well as minimizing bruising and sore
muscles. Look great in your birthday suit with…PRTTY PEAUSHUN Skin
Tight body lotion.”
Look great in your birthday suit??? I’m in!!! Here it is:

If you can’t see that writing, it
contains 92% natural, raw ingredients, no toxic ingredients and it is
cruelty free! I have medium but it also comes in plain, light, dark
and deep so there is a color out there or everyone. The packaging of
this product is so unique. At first I was skeptical and thought maybe
it was just for aesthetic purposes for the product to stand out on the
shelf…but I can admit when I am wrong ….and I was wrong. Bethany Karlyn
calls it “anti-packaging” and it is designed to take up less space in
landfills. You know where else it is going to take up less space?-In my
kit..a benefit that I adore. I also think this allows you to get every
last little bit out because you can squeeze it up toothpaste
style..instead of the hard packaging that other lotions come in.
The lotion gives you a nice, beautiful
glow…I like it because it isn’t overly shimmery like some others on the
market…it really does just give you a beautiful lit-from-within glow.
The tiny bit of color in it helps to conceal and disguise any
discolorations in your skin. The price tag is a bit up there…$36 but
for a cruelty free, non toxic product that makes your skin glow- it is
pretty on target. Also, this isn’t your everyday lotion…go use some
Jergens for that. This is some “creme-de-la creme, I’m putting on my
lashes, I’m getting my hair done, I’m rocking that short dress and heels
because I am going to see my ex at this wedding” lotion. There are
some big names that have used this lotion and love it too–check out what celebrity fitness guru Tracy Anderson has to say about it at one of her shoots. Interested in your own? There is a list of retail locations here so you can try some out for yourself!

Another Glowing Review! Adventures in Makeup
Shahada Karim is not only a fellow makeup artist, she is the Beauty Director for Agenda Magazine, and she writes this blog, Adventures in Makeup. We are thrilled with her review. Not only has she used it on set, she used Prtty Peaushun on herself and loves the results. Read the review below and make sure to check out this great makeup blog!
This is one of those 'where have you been all my life' products for my
kit. Most 'warm weather' photo shoots require some kind of body making
up. With the models in bikinis or little bits of clothing, there's a lot
of skin showing. And since I like as 'little' work done in post as
possible, I'm always trying to make sure the models are made up to
perfection, from head to toe.
Enter Prtty Peaushun:
It's a light reflecting lotion, that also has a temporary 'tightening' effect on the skin. This is not to be confused with full on body makeup. It's more of a non-transferable tinted moisturizer. The 'non transferable' part is what really got me. Nothing worse than bronzing down a model, only to have the bronzer rub onto the clothing or furniture or walls and what not.
I was sent the Prtty Peaushun lotions in Medium and Dark. I'm a combination of the two. Medium is a dead ringer for my skin tone, but nearly disappears when I put it on. Dark gives me more of a 'bronzing' effect. The combination of the two makes me 'glow' without looking like I'm actually wearing anything.
The interesting thing about the packaging is that it's designed to let you squeeze out every last drop. In pictures, I was worried that the packaging would be too flimsy, but I'm happy to report that it's pretty freakin' sturdy.
Another plus... you get a LOT of product. I think the creators took into consideration that you'll be using this on your whole body, so they adjusted accordingly. I'm always tickled by 'body glow' products that come in little tubes or bottles. Seriously, what am I supposed to do with that... just hit the hot spots?
You can see they're not OBVIOUSLY bronzed or discolored in any way. I think that Prtty Peaushun lotion makes you look like YOU on your best day (with maybe a little bit of a tan/glow). Good stuff. I really like it.

This is what the Dark lotion looks like up close, coming out of the nozzle...
That's what it looks like just before it's fully absorbed. Now, once it
sets on the skin (about 20 seconds), it looks more like this:
I ran around with it on during an 8 hour call, and I'm pleased to report
that it never moved. I actually forgot I had it on until I went to take
off my makeup... and some remover dripped down on my arms and pulled up
the product.
I also used the medium shade on 3 of the models, and the darker shade on
one of the models, in the cover shoot for Agenda Magazine:

Celeb Love: Cody Horn
One of our favorite Makeup Artists, Fiona Stiles writes an amazing blog, My life in paints, powders and pigments. Her latest entry describes how she achieved this effortless look on Cody Horn.
Get the Look: Cody Horn at the Young Hollywood Awards
Cody wanted a very effortless look. Not much foundation, a bit of an eye, a hint of a lip.... I kept the skin luminous and bare, just adding a little warmth to her skin, and used two different colors of bronzer to add dimension and a sun kissed feeling to the face (a lighter matte underneath and a darker shimmery color over it).

I skipped powder eyeshadow and just used liner to play up her eyes. I used bronze cream liner/shadow on the upper lash line and under the lower lashes first, and then added a khaki green along the top lash line, finishing up with two coats of mascara on the top and bottom.
I used a chubby lip pencil mixed with a matte lip balm for the lip color. It gave the lips a hint of color without looking "lipsticky" and kept her look young and easy...

Have you ever marvelled how your beloved celebrities prance down the red carpet with their skin glistening like a golden goddess? Seriously, it takes me a vat of body lotion to get my skin to look healthy, let alone shimmering.
Well, I have found their secret, and now I will share it with you. Prtty Peaushun. This fascinating elixir is a vegan friendly, skin firming goodness that makes your body, and face look like it was lit from within.
This is one of those goodies that make me seem like a magician on set when I am working on models. I get an instantaneous “what IS this!?” when I slather it on their arms and legs, and highlight their cheekbones with this light sunny color.
Famous Fans include Gwyneth Paltrow, Tracy Anderson, Cate Blanchet, Pink, Fergie and more. It is the bag behind every glow.

Celeb Love: Elizabeth Banks
Makeup Artists are some of our biggest fans and believe it when I say the feeling is mutual! Here Makeup Artist extraordinaire Fiona Stiles wrote in her blog how she made up the gorgeous Elizabeth Banks for her latest movie premiere. Yes, Prtty Peaushun is on that list, she looks amazing. Click here to read her blog and see how she achieves these amazing looks! And make sure to check out "Man On A Ledge"
http://www.fionastilesmakeup.com/
http://www.fionastilesmakeup.com/
For the Man on a Ledge Premiere, Elizabeth wore a stunning gold paillette dress from Pucci with really sexy Christian Louboutin gold shoes, so we used lots of bronzes on the eyes and warmed her skin to a sun kissed golden color. The bronzes made the blue of her eyes just pop. And I love the warm rosy nude lip color because it keeps the look from feeling washed out, but it doesn't take away from the eyes. I applied the foundation as I always do, using a synthetic brush and a Beauty Blender. After it was set I dusted a little bronzer at her hairline and on her cheekbones to give that beachy glow. For the eyes I took a deep brown liner and smudged it into the lashes top and bottom, and into the waterline. Then I blended the color and brushed on a deep bronze shadow over it. A little black liner on the top lash line defined the eyes and make the lashes look thicker. And so did a few coats of black mascara. You know I love my mascara!

Marissa Nemes loves Prtty Peaushun
APR 19, 2011
Marissa Nemes, Prtty Peaushun

Miami based make-up artist Marissa Nemes shared her go to product that she is loving at the moment! There’s a new company out there called PRTTY PEAUSHUN (pretty potion) created by celeb makeup artist, Bethany Karlyn. Marissa heard about it from a makeup artist friend. It is one product in a few different shades. The product is a toning lotion with light reflectors to give your gams a gorgeous glow. It’s UNBELIEVABLE on photoshoots, for red carpet events and for spring and summer. It is 100% natural, PETA approved, Vegan and the packaging is 100% natural as well. It’s lightweight so it’s easy to carry around in your kit. The name of the product is called PRTTY PEAUSHUN Skin Tight Body Lotion, its active ingredients will enhance muscle tone, even out the skin tone and condition your skin too. Marissa is in love with this product especially since it’s fragrance free and leaves your skin feeling evened out and smooth. http://bit.ly/4oQtI1

The Makeup Mole - Get Skin Like a VS Model!
Secret Weapon: Prtty Peaushun Body Lotion
This is a GENIUS product, and my latest obsession. The woman who makes this (US Celeb makeup artist, Bethany Karlyn) must be so damn clever, because it performs on every level. I didn’t think anything body makeup wise could come along and take the place of my beloved MAC Face and Body, (and I will always carry it in my kit), but this guy – well he’s definitely earned a place right in there too.
It makes your skin gleam like an expensive sports car, but it’s not shimmery or too shiny – which we all know is just soooo 2000. I have the colour Dark, and it has topped up my fading tan to make it look like I have beautiful skin – not that I’m wearing shimmery body makeup (and I defy you to find me any woman who wants to look like that). It gives you Victoria’s Secret body skin (sadly not the body as well, Jesus can you imagine if you could get one of those in a jar?) Sexy, smooth, perfect – like it’s been airbrushed, which has to be one of the most over-used terms in the beauty lexicon but in this case happens to be true.
Plus it’s natural – yes that’s right, all natural ingredients. It has 92% raw, natural ingredients, with no parabens, petrochemicals or animal products, AND it’s not tested on animals. So for those of you (and we’re growing by the day) who don’t like to put chemicals on their body, this is for you. And it feels good when you put it on – it’s a sheer weight cream that looks quite dark but it blends on smoothly, with no streaking, and no tell-tale orange palms. It glides on like a dream, doesn’t transfer onto clothes and just seems to set, so you can forget about it. As if all that wasn’t enough, it smells great, and the packaging is the coolest silver screwtop pouch that makes dispensing the right amount of product a dream. Love, love, LOVE this product, and it’s been awhile since I’ve flipped for something. But flip I have for this. Especially with summer around the corner in the Northern hemisphere, you need this in your life (and your makeup arsenal).

It gives you Victoria’s Secret body skin (sadly not the body as well, Jesus can you imagine if you could get one of those in a jar?) Sexy, smooth, perfect – like it’s been airbrushed, which has to be one of the most over-used terms in the beauty lexicon but in this case happens to be true.Plus it’s natural – yes that’s right, all natural ingredients.

Allan Avendano loves Prtty Peaushun on TEALA DUNN
One of our favorite MUAs, Allan Avendano is also one of our biggest fans! Obviously the feelings are mutual if you couldn't tell ;) He slathered some Prtty Peaushun on TEAL DUNN for the 2011 NAACP Image Awards. Check out the excerpt from his blog below to get her look!
Last Friday, I got to work with Teala Dunn from the TBS hit show "Are We There Yet?" to get her red carpet ready for the 2011 NAACP Image Awards. Not only was Teala walking the carpet, but she was also presenting at the live telecast. From meeting her dad and sister in the lobby to spending a few hours with Teala and her mom in the hotel room while doing her makeup & hair -- the whole experience was nothing less than perfect and one of the most fun times I've ever had while working!
Teala was so easy to work on with great skin, beautiful features and an open mind about trying different looks. With a classy event like the Image Awards, we wanted to keep her makeup young, glowing nd fresh with a focus on the eyes and a hairdo that was easy and bouncy. I think we accomplished just that. See the photos from the red carpet below and let me know what you think!
I can't wait to see the Dunns again and work on the beautiful Teala! Stay tuned for blog posts about this rising star! Thanks so much to Jessica Cohen, Teala's publcist for hooking us up! XOXO

Glee's Heather Morris for Paper Mag
Who watches GLEE? I definitely do! It's such a great feel good show I make sure to DVR every Tuesday night. What's better than singing, dancing, and not to mention such an eclectic cast. Glee's very own Heather Morris has had quite the year already with her Britney Spears episode and now she's become a Glamour Girl for Paper Mag! Check out the pictures on Alan's blog HERE!
