Another Glowing Review! Six2Eleven

Here is yet another glowing review of Prtty Peaushun.   This one comes from Kim at Six2Eleven, a relatively new beauty and style blog.  Thanks for the lovely review Kim!!

My Magic Potion

Time for a little girl talk today!  (JW, I won't be offended if you skip this post!)

With age, comes well...some unexpected surprises.  And heck, I'm only 31!  I can't wait to see what's next (insert sarcasm here).   This summer, I've definitely started to notice more sun spots than last.  Not good.  So I decided to try and be better to my skin and start spray tanning (plus I had a Groupon).  And I love it!!!  However, the one bad thing I noticed was that it amplified my sun spots even more.  Awesome.

But I found a cure.  Actually, I've had it for awhile now - - but it seems to work perfectly on my new "dilemma."  It's called Prtty Peaushun. I originally bought it for my wedding and to be honest, haven't used it a ton since then but that's all about to change!

Here's what it is and why it's different:
  • Subtle light-reflecting particles in a natural emollient base give the skin a gorgeous, flattering glow.
  • Radiance conceals minor imperfections and enhances definition to create a sexy, slimmer, silhouette.
  • Infused with an innovative blend of natural plant extracts to lift, firm, tighten and diminish the appearance of cellulite, stretch marks and varicose veins, as well as minimizing bruising and sore muscles.
  • Not a self tanner. Darker shades can be used to create a natural-looking tan and product will wash off in the shower.
  • Sensitive skin responds very well to Prtty Peashun as it has some natural healing qualities due to the handcrafted organic plant extracts.

 How to use it:
  • Use on the body, face, and in the hair
  • Use under your favorite foundation to add a luminous glow to your face! Evens out your skin tone (reducing redness) and provides a subtle, healthy glow
  • Mix with your liquid foundation to create a glowing tinted moisturizer
  • Looks great over a real or spray tan
  • Apply over sunscreen (once your sunscreen has fully absorbed)
  • On the hair, Prtty Peaushun tames frizz and adds luscious shine and glow to highlight and create depth
It comes in 5 different shades. I use the dark.

Another Glowing Review: I am a Weapon of Massive Consumption

Alex from the UK has this great blog, I am a Weapon of Massive Consumption.  She recently not only tried Prtty Peaushun, she wore it on her WEDDING day!  We are thrilled at how happy she is with the results!   Feast your eyes on this glowing review, which by the way, is full of amazing images!

Introducing - Prtty Peaushun

PRTTY PEAUSHUN Skin Tight Body Lotion* could be easily described as a body lotion... but it's so much more than that!
I don't like self-tanning especially since reading in an article recently that it's not that harmless; sure, it's better than sunbeds but it actually create an humongous number of free radicals... did you know that?
Now that I've discovered this magic potion that is prtty peaushun, I don't feel the need for self-tanning products, anymore.
Created by celebrity make up artist, Bethany Karlyn and I was lucky enough to have some sent to try by Bethany herself.

This is an all natural product infused with an innovative blend of plant extracts to lift, firm tighten the skin.... plus it has light reflecting particles that blurs imperfections and give a flattering, sexy glow.
It can, also, be used on face and hair.
You could argue that there are other similar products on the market... but no, my friend, this is the bee's knees!

The formula is the true innovation: Prtty Peaushun is made of 92% natural raw ingredients, fragrance free and no toxic ingredients!
Also, everything is green about this product: the packaging is designed to leave the least carbon footprint as possible (although, I need to admit that my only criticism goes to the packaging which I find not very practical and I took it travelling with me and I was worried it would break in my luggage).
It comes in 4 shades: light, medium, dark and extra dark - the one demonstrated below is medium.

Honestly, you have to try it to really believe how amazing it is... until then, have a look on the website
www.prttypeaushun.com and the red carpet photos on the official blog!
I used it on my wedding day (blogpost here) and I don't think I could give it a better compliment than that! :)

Fake Flawless Skin!

GlammeVine.com  had this to say about how to fake flawless skin this summer.  Thanks GlammeVine!

Prtty Peaushun Skin Tight Body Lotion, $39.95
Prtty Peaushun Skin Tight Body Lotion, $39.95

So Memorial Day is this weekend, and I’m all prepared to break out my shorts but shocker–my legs are looking less than stellar, thanks to a faded vacay glow and my only twice-a-week workout (hey, I’ve been busy!). Spray tanning, of course, is an option, but I’m reserving my funds for a more special occasion than the usual, just-wearing-shorts-this-weekend affair.

Fortunately, I’ve found that miracle beauty product that will transform my legs into a flawless looking, vein-free and beautifully toned set of stems. The Prtty Peaushun Skin Tight Body Lotion, created by celebrity makeup artist Bethany Karlyn, is an all-natural, cruelty-free, hydrating moisturizer. The organic, anti-inflammatory ingredients are like a super-power skincare cocktail, diminishing cellulite, bruising, stretch marks and imperfections, all while boosting collagen production to keep your skin from looking older than it should. It’s also loaded with light-reflecting pigments that work just like a face foundation, giving just a hint of tint to even out your skin tone, and in this case, enhance your muscles so your legs suddenly look like you’ve logged in a lot of gym hours. Of course, when you rub it in all over, the same effect will occur on arms and abs too. Since the formula actually improves skin with each application, I’ve got nothing to fear with the skin-baring summer ahead. Bring on the weekend!

Celeb Love: Cody Horn

One of our favorite Makeup Artists, Fiona Stiles writes an amazing blog, My life in paints, powders and pigments.  Her latest entry describes how she achieved this effortless look on Cody Horn.

Get the Look: Cody Horn at the Young Hollywood Awards

Cody wanted a very effortless look. Not much foundation, a bit of an eye, a hint of a lip.... I kept the skin luminous and bare, just adding a little warmth to her skin, and used two different colors of bronzer to add dimension and a sun kissed feeling to the face (a lighter matte underneath and a darker shimmery color over it).

I skipped powder eyeshadow and just used liner to play up her eyes. I used bronze cream liner/shadow on the upper lash line and under the lower lashes first, and then added a khaki green along the top lash line, finishing up with two coats of mascara on the top and bottom.

I used a chubby lip pencil mixed with a matte lip balm for the lip color. It gave the lips a hint of color without looking "lipsticky" and kept her look young and easy...

Are Self Tanners Safe?

We've recently read several articles questioning the safety of self tanners.  Mainly the focus is on DHA.  Below is an excerpt from the blog No More Dirty Looks.   It provides a balanced approach to the topic.  The reason it is being posted here is to make clear that Prtty Peaushun is NOT a self tanner and does NOT contain DHA!!  Below the article you will see our ingredients.  We are very proud of our formula and it's safety!!

Dihydroxyacetone—that’s DHA to you— which is the active ingredient in self-tanners (even clean ones) and spray tans (none of which are clean) “has the potential to cause genetic alterations and DNA damage,” according to a panel of scientists in an investigation done by ABC News.
Now before you run to the bathroom and ditch your Chocolate Sun, let’s take a closer look at what we know so far.
What are the news reports saying?
That DHA has the potential to cause genetic alterations, DNA damage, and cancer.
What’s DHA anyway?
DHA is a sugar that interacts with amino acids in the top layer of your skin to produce pigment called melanoidins; that’s the brownish tanned look these products achieve. DHA can be manufactured synthetically, or it can be derived from natural things, like beet sugar or cane sugar. It was approved by the FDA for topical use in 1977 (and many orange tans ensued!) and is widely accepted as nontoxic when applied to the skin.
So is it toxic?
Some research showed that when it’s applied in the form of a lotion, DHA does not migrate past the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of skin that’s also sometimes called the “dead skin layer.” Which sounds gross, but it’s good news, we thought, for your organs and your blood if you’re applying it in a cream as opposed inhaling it in the form of a spray tan or a spray-on self tanner.
Up until now, there’s been the most concern about spray tans, because the application method means you might inhale the stuff. Even the FDA, which is typically mum about all things cosmetics-related, has a warning on its website about them. Which means that for the love of all things good (and good looking) you should not be getting a spray tan!
Fine. But I’m good to go with a self tanner, right?
Not so fast.
FDA reports dating back to the 1990s, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, cited research that some DHA can migrate to the living layers of the skin after all. How much of it—and where it goes from there—is anybody’s guess.

Celeb Love: Molly Sims

Molly Sims wrote this lovely piece about Prtty Peaushun in her Supermodel Secrets feature of her blog!  Thanks so much Molly, we appreciate the love!

When you’re a supermodel on set, every makeup artist you work with has their own special concoction for making your body look camera-ready. It’s usually a combination of at least seven different products (lotions, oils, pigments, bronzers, etc.), and the formula is top secret. Makeup artist Bethany Karlyn’s secret formula is the best in the biz—any model or actress who’s ever used it will tell you the same! So after years of being hounded by her clients (me included!) to package it, Bethany created Prtty Peaushun.

Prtty Peaushun is more than a body lotion. It gives the skin a gorgeous, flattering glow, conceals minor imperfections, and is infused with natural plant extracts to lift, firm and tighten the skin. In a word, I am OB-sessed. Plus, it comes in amazing squeezable package and it’s only $36 for 8 oz.—not too bad for a miracle worker.

Another Glowing Review: Lippy In London

They love us across the pond in London.  Read this lovely review from Lippy in London.  Thank you Hannah Rose for the lovely words!

Tan on Trial #1: Prtty Peaushun

In honour of the beginning of Summer, I'm going to be putting a series of faux tanners, bronzers and body beautifiers to the test and sharing my thoughts on Lippy in London.

First off the block is something a little unusual, a little different yet truly fantastic - the Prtty Peaushun Skin Tight Body Lotion.

Prtty Peaushun ( pronounced pretty potion) is a body lotion with a twist - an illuminating, slimming, moisturising, light reflecting bronzing oil that hides imperfections and gives the skin an oh-so-flattering healthy glow.

What does it do?
The potion promises to minimize the appearance of cellulite, varicose veins, stretch marks and various other lumps, bumps and bits that can leave us girls feeling less than confident in warm weather.
This isn't a fake tanning product, but rather a body beautifier that contains a unique blend of plant extracts that work together to firm and tighten while you get your glow on - a very welcome bonus!

Claims such as these are often far fetched, but I'm telling you first hand after slathering this on my own body that this product delivers on its promises. Rejoice!

The Packaging:
Looking at the product, it's safe to say that this isn't your standard run of the mill packaging. This is down to the fact that its creator, celebrity MUA Bethany Karlyn is environmentally aware and aimed to reduce waste by housing the lotion in 'anti packaging' that will take up minimal space in landfills. The pouch contains 236ml of product and the flexibility of the packaging means I'll be able to squeeze out every last drop of the lovely stuff. No product wastage here!

The Scent:
Prtty Peaushun is made with 92% natural raw ingredients including Avocado Oil and Green Tea so it has a lovely, subtle sort of herbal scent that won't clash with your perfume.

The Consistency:
When I first unscrewed the cap on this, I wasn't quite prepared for how runny it would be and I managed to spill some down my shirt! This was largely down to the fact that I hadn't shaken it up first, so the oil ingredients were sitting on the surface of the formula. Once shaken, it's still considerably runny, but thick enough to keep things under control!

The Price Tag:
At £39 it is on the pricier side, but other brands such as Famous Dave's and St Tropez are in this price range too.
The Verdict:
I adore Prtty Peaushun and I can see it becoming a staple product for me.
A little of this lotion goes a long way and I can see this pouch lasting through most of summer.
Prtty Peaushun is fast absorbing, bronzing, subtly sparkling and smells delish so it gets a big nod from me!
I think I'll be smoothing this on over a fake tan for extra punch this summer.
